YotaPhone changed the definition of smartphones by introducing dual display facility and now with it successor coming to the market on December 30th 2014; things will be even more interesting. Just like YotaPhone, the second generation YotaPhone also comes with dual display and this time, the display is much bigger than the earlier one. 74% of the surface of the phone can be used as a display and along with that there are quite a good amount of specifications that will grab the eyeballs of the users. It is always believed that the future smartphone will play more on display and that is what YotaPhone 2 has been doing.

  • Innovative concept

Not many have thought of dual display and now YotaPhone 2 has also incorporated some of the best features, which has made the smartphone twice as good. The front screen is regular AMOLED screen display and on the rear side you will find the e-ink screen display. If you are not sure what e-ink screen looks like, then this is the same display that you will find on eReaders.

  • Release date and the price

YotaPhone 2 will be launched in an event in London on the 3rd of December with a price tag of 495 Euro. In India, it is believed that YotaPhone2 will cost around INR 53,999.

  • Specifications

The display is about 5 – inches and it provides Full HD resolution (1920 X 1080). This is what you get on the forefront, but on the rear side you will get around 4.7 inch display. Even the resolution is only 960 X 540 pixels. Though the general view of any user is that when you are using the dual display the battery consumption will be huge, but in reality it is just the opposite. When you use the front and rear display, you will actually be saving the battery life due to the e-paper screen display. It only consumes battery when you refresh, otherwise it won’t eat up your 2500 mAh Li-ion battery.

The YotaPhone 2 has now improved the touch navigation by making it touch control rather than the touch panel of YotaPhone, the previous version. To protect the screen from scratches, Corning Gorilla Glass protection is available. The brain behind the YotaPhone 2 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The storage is not expandable, so you have to do with what is on offer and this time it comes with 32GB and 2GB of RAM. The camera is of 8MP on the rear and on the front, YotaPhone2 is offering 2.1 MP camera. You can make use of auto focus; digital zoom and full HD display @30 FPS for the video recording.

YotaPhone 2 also comes with advanced form of anti theft protection along with high performance audio system, which is hands free. It also uses the latest Android version that is Android v4.4 (KitKat) and on the Wi-Fi section it is 11ac Wi-Fi, NFC along with Bluetooth. Moreover, the wireless charging is built in, so no need to carry your adapter everywhere.
