Revolutionary Update in LoL: WASD Controls on the Way

Riot Games is bringing the long-awaited WASD control support to League of Legends. This feature, which will first be tested on the PBE servers, could change the gameplay dynamics of the game.

League of Legends has continued to be the most popular game in the MOBA genre since 2009. However, the WASD movement feature that players have long desired has not been added to the game until now. Riot Games officially announced in their new developer diary that this feature will be added to the game soon.

🖥 WILL BE TESTED ON PBE SERVER FIRST

The new control system will primarily be tested on the PBE (Public Beta Environment) servers. The Riot team will collect player feedback here over several patches to make necessary adjustments both technically and in terms of balance.

⚔ KITING WILL BE EASIER WITH WASD

According to Riot’s announcement, WASD controls particularly facilitate the kiting (retreating while attacking) movement. This situation may lead to changes in balance for players accustomed to the traditional click-based control system.

🔧 BALANCE SETTINGS ON THE WAY

The development team is planning balance adjustments to ensure that there is no advantage difference between the two control systems. This way, both veteran players who have been playing the game for years and newcomers will be able to compete on equal terms.

⏳ WHEN IS IT COMING?

Riot Games has not yet announced when the WASD control system will officially be added to the game. However, after the PBE process is completed, this feature is expected to come to all servers.

The addition of WASD support to League of Legends is a significant step that could fundamentally change the control logic of the game. This feature will offer a more intuitive experience especially for players coming from different types of games to LoL. However, time will tell how the new system will affect the meta. 🕹️
