WhatsApp is soon going to introduce two more new features to the app that will allow the users to edit and delete sent messages. Users will now be able to edit messages after they have been sent. Users can also completely revoke an already sent message from the conversation. Which means you can Delete WhatsApp Sent Messages OR Edit messages in WhatsApp.
These features are currently available only for the WhatsApp 2.17.1.869 beta version build for iOS. They are being trailed and tested within iPhone, but soon they are likely to be available to the android beta users as well.
WABetaInfo, that tracks the beta releases of the WhatsApp app, reported about these features.WABetaInfohas also tweeted a video that shows the message deleting and editing process.
You can make the feature work by tapping and holding on a sent message, which will bring up a list of options that includes “revoke”. You can select this option to delete the message from the conversation.
However, there are speculations about whether thiscan be applied to read messages or not. There is news that users will only be able to revoke the message if the recipient has not yet seen the message. There is no confirmation about this news yet. There is also news that only the recent messages can be edited and not the older ones.
The “edit” option is also available in the same list of options. This will allow users to edit the sent messages but WABetaInfo also says that this feature will be disabled by default which means that you have to turn on this feature manually.
These amazing new features will be incredibly useful to everyone and will come as a relief all the careless typists out there. However, it might take some time for these essential features to be available for all the regular users as it is still in the trail version.
